Ok, I admit it - it is a sensationalist headline, but I wanted to highlight something I came across this morning while reading "the dailies" (my battery of google alerts):
The other major weakness is the product is built using Ruby On Rails. Ruby On Rails seems to be a development environment with a lot of future possibilities, but as a general rule you don’t want your revenue-generating product to be based on cutting edge technology.
The quote is from a "Rick Wilson", listed as Executive Vice President of Miva Merchant, offered up as a criticism of Shopify.
Rick, small suggestion: stay clear of the techncial stuff. It is hard to take someone seriously when they are willing to talk about things with authority that they clearly know very little about.
